Monty Charles

Tenor


Monty Charles graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2024 with a First in Music and Spanish, and the Arnold Goldsbrough Prize for the highest performance mark in his year. He was a member of the 2024/25 VOCES8 Scholars Programme and Genesis Sixteen cohort, and is now a freelance tenor. He is currently singing as a member of VOCES8, covering Blake's Sabbatical until Easter 2026.

As well as singing professionally, Monty has over 5 years of experience working in education, both in musical and non-musical contexts. Through his work at Elevate Education he has travelled across the UK to lead seminars in senior schools on topics such as time management, exam technique, self-motivation, and student wellbeing. Through the VOCES8 Foundation he has led and participated in musical workshops and masterclasses for singers of all ages, and also offers private tutoring in Singing and Music Theory.
