The VOCES8 Scholars Ensemble
The VOCES8 Scholars Ensemble is a dynamic vocal group comprising outstanding young professional singers, all alumni of the prestigious VOCES8 Scholars Programme at the VOCES8 Foundation. The Musical Director is soprano Ailsa Campbell. The Foundation is dedicated to inspiring and empowering individuals through the transformative power of music. By fostering artistic excellence, delivering world-class performances, and creating innovative educational initiatives, it aims to enrich lives, build communities, and nurture the next generation of musical talent.
The Ensemble’s work in 2024-2025 included performances across the UK including London’s Kings Place, Lancaster Priory, the Royal Naval College Greenwich, ‘Shakespeare in Music’ in Stratford on Avon, ‘Gregorian Treasures’ in London and Cambridge with the Dutch ensemble Wishful Singing and ‘Fruit of Silence’ with McNicol Ballet Collective at the Royal Academy of Music, London. They also gave concerts in France, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.
In the 2025-2026 season they will sing at events and give concerts in the UK, in Spain, Italy, France, Bulgaria, Sweden and Colombia. Further ahead they will perform with Hugo Ticciati and O/Modernt in performances of “Henry Purcell & Harry Potter” at the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg and Merano, Italy with a cast including Danielle de Niese as Dido; and perform with the Dutch vocal ensemble Wishful Singing on a tour in the Netherlands including the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. Their debut album will be released for VOCES8 Records, called ‘Songs of Doubt and Wonderment’ featuring the music of Mårten Jansson with the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, conducted by Ragnar Bohlin. The Ensemble also takes part in concerts and recordings alongside VOCES8 and as part of the larger VOCES8 Foundation Choir.
