Shelby Griffin

Shelby Griffin

Shelby Griffin is a composer, conductor, and soprano based in Houston, Texas. She is finishing up her Bachelors in Music Education at the University of Houston. She is currently the director of Ardore, an a capella chamber choir at UH. Throughout her schooling, she has had multiple original arrangements and compositions premiered, and enjoys composing choral and solo vocal works. She has traveled internationally to compete in choral competitions with UH’s Concert Chorale, bringing home 3rd place and Grand Prize awards. She is passionate about performing works by living composers, and premiered Nansi Carroll’s “Chembe Cha Moyo”, a Swahili song cycle set to poetry by Alamin Marzui. Alongside her love for current composers like Ivo Antognini, Paul Mealor, Nansi Carroll, and many more, she has a special place in her heart for the Romantic era, favoring Olivier Messiaen and Sergei Rachmaninoff. In her free time outside of music, she enjoys lifting weights, perfecting her matcha latté recipe, and snacking on mandarin oranges.

Len Torrie

Len Torrie

Len Torrie is a Montréal-based soprano, singer-songwriter, and performance curator known for their crystalline tone, expressive versatility, and storytelling depth. A sought-after soloist and ensemble singer, Len performs regularly with leading early music ensembles including L’Harmonie des Saisons, Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal, and Ensemble Caprice. Len holds a master’s degree in early music vocal performance from McGill University, where they studied under Suzie LeBlanc and Dominique Labelle. Internationally, Len has trained with the Accademia Europea dell’Opera and the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart. They are one- third of the medieval trio COMTESSA, where they sing and play citole and Anglo-Saxon lyre. A queer, non-binary artist, Len draws on the wisdom of queer elders and ancestors in their research and performance of radically inclusive stories. Their work bridges early music and contemporary folk, with a growing focus on self-accompaniment on period and modern instruments.

Katelyn Dietz

Katelyn Dietz

Katelyn Dietz is a multi-genre professional vocalist based in Los Angeles. As an ensemble enthusiast, she has been a member of groups like GRAMMY Award-winning The Swingles, Tonality, Border CrosSing, and LORICA, part of the ANÚNA choral family. Known widely for her versatility, Katelyn has trained and performed extensively in classical/choral, vocal jazz, pop, musical theatre, and Irish traditional folk styles. She earned Bachelor’s degrees in Theatre and Voice from Fredonia and a Master's of Music in Vocal Jazz Performance from Western Michigan University. At WMU, she was the Teaching Assistant for the world-renowned Vocal Jazz and Gold Company programs and earned three Downbeat Student Music Awards for Blues/Pop/Rock Soloist, Vocal Jazz Arrangement, and Large Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Alongside performing, Katelyn serves as Camp Manager for the WMU New York Voices Vocal Jazz Camp every summer and is an accomplished copyist and arranger with her own sheet music editing service, The Transpository.

Leah Rosenman

Leah Rosenman

Leah Rosenman is a mezzo-soprano based in Rochester, NY. As a soloist, she has appeared with the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, the Berkshire Symphony, the Northern Berkshire Chorale, the I/O New Music Festival, the Williams Opera Workshop, and the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival. As a chorister, she has sung with the 2025-2026 VOCES8 US Scholars, the Spoleto Festival USA Chorus, the Northwestern Bach Academy, the Amherst Early Music Festival, and the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. Leah received her BA in music from Williams College. She is currently pursuing her MA in music leadership from the Eastman School of Music, where she is also a voice student of Katherine Ciesinski. When not singing, she enjoys reading poetry, taking photos, and spending time with her cat, Jojo.

Megan Gackle

Megan Gackle

Praised for her florid vocal agility and range, award-winning American mezzo-soprano Megan Gackle is quickly building her reputation as a versatile vocal artist. Mrs. Gackle’s blossoming career showcases versatility, excellence and adaptability in a variety of vocal genres including opera, jazz, musical theater and concert works. Mrs. Gackle has been featured in a variety of operatic roles in a number of operas including the title role of Die Mutter in Engelbert Humperdink’s Hansel und Gretel, Eunice in Andre Previn’s Streetcar named Desire.Oreste in Handel’s Oreste, Queen Hera in the premiere of All Wounds Bleed with the Chicago Fringe Opera and Latitude 49, Dinah in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, Dorabella in Mozart’s comic opera, Cosi Fan Tutte and the Countess Charlotte Magnus in Sondheim’s A Little Night Music. In 2019, Gackle made her Carnegie Hall debut at the Kurt Weill Concert Hall in New York City. In 2017 and 2018, she was awarded second place consecutively, at the Texoma NATS competitions in the graduate division. Her concert performances include mezzo soloist for Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the University of North Texas Conductor’s Chorus in 2023, Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Bach's Magnificat in D, and Bach's St. John Passion. She is honored to be a member of the North American Voces8 Scholars this year

Marcella Astore

Marcella Astore

Marcella Astore is a mezzo-soprano based in New York City. In the 2025-26 season, she makes her Carnegie Hall debut with The Cecilia Chorus of New York as the alto soloist in Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli and the New York premiere of Mark Buller’s Mass in Exile. Previous engagements include performances with Teatro Nuovo, Spoleto Festival USA, and Ars Musica Chorale, as well as Juilliard415 and Tenet Vocal Artists through Talks with Tenet. She recently completed a Professional Studies Diploma in Voice at Mannes School of Music, where she studied with Amy Burton and Joshua Greene. Highlights with Mannes Opera include Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina, Ruth in Muhly’s Dark Sisters, Kleonike in Adamo’s Lysistrata, and Maman/La Chatte in Ravel's L'Enfant et les sortilèges, along with Mannes’s choral workshop of David T. Little's Agamemnon.

James Allen

James Allen

James Allen is a tenor from Savannah, Georgia. He has been on stage in roles such as Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Peter Quint (The Turn of the Screw), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Sam Kaplan (Street Scene), and Orfeo (L’Orfeo). He has been a Young Artist with the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory, a Vocal Fellow with the Spoleto Festival USA, and attended the Castleton Festival as both a singer and pianist to play Robert Schumann’s “Dichterliebe.” He has earned degrees from Georgia Southern University (BM) and the University of South Carolina (MM and DMA) with his dissertation titled “A Performance and Pedagogical Guide to William Butler Yeats Songs by Ben Moore.” James is also the Artistic Director of the vocal ensemble Gallus Camerata based out of Columbia, South Carolina, and he is on the rosters of the professional choral ensembles Servire and the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Cincinnati.

Max Trombley

Max Trombley

Maxwell Trombley is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in Choral Conducting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). He also serves as the 2025–2026 Choral Conducting Fellow with the Cincinnati May Festival. As a vocalist, Trombley has performed internationally and with major American orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, and New World Symphony. He is a 2025–2026 VOCES8 US Scholar and has performed with Seraphic Fire through its Early Artist Program. Additional appearances include the Spoleto Festival USA as a Chorus Fellow and the Bay View Music Festival as an invited artist. In addition to his work as a vocalist and educator, Trombley is an experienced conductor with a strong background in sacred music and serves on the summer voice faculty and managerial staff at Interlochen Center for the Arts. He previously taught secondary choral music in Michigan public schools for four years and served the Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) by coordinating state-level honors choirs and solo and ensemble events.

Opal Clyburn-Miller

Opal Clyburn-Miller

Tenor Opal Clyburn-Miller is an active ensemble singer and soloist in D.C. and Maryland, having appeared in concert with The Thirteen, Washington Bach Consort, and the Washington National Cathedral Choir and Orchestra. They have also been a featured soloist with the Handel Choir of Baltimore (Handel‘s Messiah), Baltimore Choral Arts Society (Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb), and Spoleto Festival USA (Bach’s B Minor Mass). Passionate about oratorio literature and baroque performance practices, Opal has attended such prestigious programs as the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, Bachakademie Stuttgart, and the American Bach Soloists Academy. Opal is currently based in Baltimore, pursuing a master’s degree in vocal performance at the Peabody Conservatory. They study with American soprano Tony Arnold, perform in the vocal ensembles of Dr. Beth Willer, and coach with the baroque faculty.

Logan Severson Willson

Logan Severson Willson

Logan Severson Willson is a bass-baritone, composer, and conductor from Tucson, Arizona, who is passionate about discovering what unites us all in our shared humanity. He has been fortunate to share this passion on stage as a soloist, conductor, and ensemble member in collaborations with award-winning ensembles from all over the world. As a composer, Logan publishes his work through his website and is always eager to take on new commissions and projects. His music has been honored with global performances by professional, school, church, and community ensembles. Currently, Logan enjoys singing with the Voces8 US Scholars, serving as a choral intern at the Church of the Red Rocks, conducting the Kitt School of Music composition studio, and participating in the musical opportunities offered to him. Outside of music, you can find him racing bicycles.

T.J. Callahan

T.J. Callahan

Bass-baritone T.J. Callahan (he/him/his) uses historically informed performance practice as a lens to cast new light on vocal music from all eras. Currently based in Baltimore, Maryland, he sings in the critically acclaimed Emmanuel Choir and has appeared as a soloist with Handel Choir Baltimore and in ensemble with Mind on Fire. In 2024, he was selected for fellowships with the Charlotte Bach Festival and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival at Yale University. He performs regularly with premiere vocal ensembles across the US including the Byrd Ensemble, The Thirteen, and VAE Cincinnati. T.J.'s upcoming season will include debuts as a soloist with Bach in Baltimore and in ensemble on the Washington National Cathedral Choir’s concert series. His passion for ensemble singing has led him to launch a new vocal quartet, Anchorites, which is giving three concerts in its debut season this year.
