Alice is a soprano and recent Masters graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. A former member of the National Youth Choir and Genesis Sixteen, she regularly performs with ensembles and as a concert and operatic soloist. Recent highlights include Bach’s Coffee Cantata, Handel’s Messiah, Oberto in Handel’s Alcina, and premiering contemporary compositions. Alongside performing, Alice enjoys conducting, and community music and education work, and is over the moon to be a VOCES8 Scholar this year! Alice is this year’s Wingate Scholar, with thanks to the Harold Hyam Wingate Foundation for their support.

Molly O’Toole is a soprano from Sheffield. Molly completed a Master’s degree in Solo Voice Ensemble Singing at the University of York, directed by Robert Hollingworth. She has performed with a wide range of ensembles such as Springhead Constellation Choir and Orchestra, St Martin’s Voices, Echo Vocal Ensemble and Collegium Vocale Gent. She is an alumna of Springhead Constellation Academy, Genesis Sixteen and St Martin-in-the-Fields’s Emerging Artists’ scheme. Molly is very excited to be joining this year’s VOCES8 Scholars.

Eibhlín is a recent first-class graduate from the RNCM. In Manchester, she performed with groups such as Kantos and the Edvard Grieg Korene, and was an alto scholar with the Diocese of Manchester. Eibhlín is a founding member of Ventis Vocal Ensemble, performing with them across England. Now in London, she is excited to be joining the VOCES8 Scholars, as well as being a part of Genesis Sixteen, St Martin’s Voices Emerging Artists, and Vox Urbane Next Gen for the upcoming year.

Daniel Blaze is a recent music graduate of Clare College Cambridge, where he was the Sir William McKie Organ Scholar. Since then, he has spent a year singing as a Countertenor Lay Clerk in the choir of King’s College Cambridge, as well as directing and singing with Lady Clare’s Consort, a vocal ensemble specialising in the performance of Renaissance polyphony. Daniel is also an experienced collaborative pianist, having performed in the Wigmore Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields alongside tenor, Hugo Williamson.

James is a tenor based in London. From 2020-2024 he was a choral scholar at St John’s College, University of Cambridge, where he studied Politics and International Relations. After leaving university, he took up a job as a Lay Clerk at Southwark Cathedral (alongside a law conversion). He regularly appears with leading ensembles including Tenebrae (dir. Nigel Short), the Constellation Choir and Orchestra (dir. Sir John Eliot Gardiner), Alamire (dir. David Skinner), and the Cambridge Singers (dir. Sir John Rutter).

Matt has just begun singing tenor at St Albans Cathedral, having been a Choral Scholar and Lay Clerk at King's College, Cambridge (and Musical Director of The King's Men). At King's, he was a soloist in recordings, broadcasts and venues including the Barbican, Concertgebouw, and Sydney Opera House. Two-thirds of Matt spent two years in the Singaporean Armed Forces. He has recently turned from a prospective legal career to full-time singing, and is delighted to be joining the VOCES8 Scholars!

German baritone and conductor Lucas Reis is a graduate of the HMT Leipzig. While active primarily as an oratorio soloist, his recent operatic engagements include roles at Oper Leipzig and Oper Halle. Lucas is a co-founder, arranger, and composer for the award-winning vocal ensemble SoaVI, and sings with the prize-winning male chamber choir ffortissibros. An alumnus of prestigious programs such as the Rundfunkchor Berlin and Balthasar Neumann Academies, he is delighted to join the VOCES8 Scholars this year.

Austrian baritone Benjamin Sattlecker is a prizewinner of the Leipzig Bach Competition and the Haydn Competition in Rohrau. He graduated with distinction from the master's degree programmes in Lied and Oratorio and in Opera and Music Theatre at the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

He currently holds a permanent position with the WDR Radio Choir. A versatile ensemble and concert singer, he regularly performs with ensembles including the Salzburg Bach Society and appears in concerts across Europe.

Alyssa Fraley is an American audio engineer and aspiring higher audio educator specialising in classical recording. She studied Vocal Performance and performed as both a soloist and chorister as an undergraduate in Los Angeles but shifted into audio engineering during her studies. After a brief career as a radio producer and adjunct audio lecturer, she began studies for her MMus in Music Technology at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She is thrilled to return to choral music as the VOCES8 AV Technician Scholar.
