
Ailsa Campbell
Ailsa Campbell, Soprano, from Northumberland was appointed as the first female Choral Scholar at Bristol Cathedral in 2016 and completed a masters in Solo Voice Ensemble Singing at the University of York with Robert Hollingworth (director of I Fagiolini), graduating with distinction in 2019. She was a member of the NYCGB Fellowship Programme 2018/19 and now sings regularly with The Choir of the Chapels Royal, Tower of London and St Martin’s Voices. Alongside singing, Ailsa enjoys a busy freelance arts administration career.

Clover Willis
Clover read music at the University of Cambridge and now works as a soprano and teacher in London. She sings with various church choirs and consort groups across London and is a Teacher Singer with the Pimlico Musical Foundation. She also works for the singing in prisons charity, Sing Inside, where she delivers workshops in prisons and runs their musical leadership training programme. After a period spent as Head of Music at a secondary school in Tottenham, she is now putting more of a focus on singing and singing focused outreach and education work.

Katie Macdonald
British mezzo-soprano Katie Macdonald is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studied with Sarah Pring. Her studies were generously supported by The Behrens Foundation, The Kathleen Trust and The Mario Lanza Foundation.
Recent engagements include working with Grange Park Opera, West Green House Opera, British Youth Opera, LSO Discovery and Classic FM.
Katie is a 2022-2023 Oxford Lieder Young Artist and a Britten-Pears Young Artist.

Will Prior
Will graduated from Magdalen College, Oxford in 2021 with a degree in Music and spent his first year out of university teaching at Magdalen college school. He still lives in Oxford, singing as a Lay Clerk in Christ Church Cathedral choir and working as an administrative assistant with Magdalen College Choir. Will has always loved singing in a variety of styles from solo art song, opera, and oratorio to consort and close harmony; in his final year of studies, he particularly enjoyed co-directing ‘The Oxford Gargoyles’, a vocal Jazz ensemble.


Joseph Hancock
Joseph sings with the Choir of St John’s College, Cambridge under the direction of Andrew Nethsingha, studying singing with David Lowe. He recently graduated with a first-class degree in Music from the University of Cambridge. He began his choral career as a chorister with the Choir of New College, Oxford, before becoming an inaugural Choral Scholar with Oxford Bach Soloists. He enjoys a cappella singing with The Gentlemen of St John’s, and is a long-suffering supporter of Reading FC.

David Walsh
Now singing in Canterbury Cathedral, David grew up in Ireland, studied Music at University of Aberdeen, and has performed as a singer around the UK and internationally; singing with ensembles including National Youth Choir of Scotland, Sestina Early Music Ensemble, Irish Youth Choir, Northern Irish Opera, University of Aberdeen’s Chapel and Chamber Choirs, and many more. David is a recipient of University of Aberdeen's Ogston Music Prize 2019 and was also a member of Dunedin Consort's 'Bridging the Gap' scheme.

Daniel Gilchrist
A baritone from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Dan Gilchrist was educated at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where he received an invigorating choral education at the hands of Geoffrey Webber and Paul Brough, which was followed by a year in the choir of King’s College under the inspiring direction of Daniel Hyde. He lives in Oxford where he is employed as a lay clerk at New College. He is also a composer especially of choral, vocal and chamber music, and is the founder and musical director of The Selene Scholars, an ambitious eight-piece vocal group.

George Vines
George is a 21-year-old bass from South Wales, now living in London. He became a Scholar after graduating from Cambridge with a double first in Natural Sciences, having spent three years in the Choir of St John’s College. George began choral singing with Welsh choir Only Kids Aloud. He won a bursary and music award at Eton, performing close harmony with the Incognitos. His singing teacher is Alex Ashworth. When not singing, George is a policy adviser at HM Treasury.
