Keep Watch, Dear Lord was written in March of 2020 at the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Although the specific impulse of this creation was to memorialize Harriette Love Smith (the grandmother of a friend), it became for me a universal prayer for repose for those who perished, and solace for those who mourn them. Keep Watch, Dear Lord was premiered a year later by VOCES8 in a Live from London participatory concert, for which singers from all over the world were invited to sing along from their own homes.

Difficulty | Medium - The texture is mostly homophonic and in 4 parts, with very occasional divisi in the bass. There are some trickier intervallic leaps and harmonic turns.
